How to order a wall: from request to site
Ordering a wall is four steps: the request with the measurements, a consultation with the manager, the final quote and booking the installation. Between the first contact and the wall being installed, two to three weeks normally pass — most of that time is the material arriving, not the site work.
This page describes the process from the customer's side: what you tell us, what we do, when the price is decided and when it is paid. The installation technique itself is at Installation, with the eleven stages of the site.
Step 1 — the request
To answer with a number we need four things: the length of the line in metres, the height you want, the municipality and photographs of the plot. With that, we already give you the order of magnitude on the same day.
- Length — measured along the line where the wall will be, not the area of the plot.
- Height — 1.50 m, 1.80 m, 2.00 m or 2.50 m. If you haven't decided yet, see the solutions by height; the permitted height depends on the municipality.
- Municipality — it determines the distance, the transport and the local rules.
- Photographs — the wall line, the plot entrance and the high and low points. These are what we use to confirm the gradient, so they count as much as the measurements.
Step 2 — the consultation with the manager
The request is handled remotely: by phone, WhatsApp or e-mail. The manager confirms the measurements with you, asks for any missing photographs and clarifies what changes the price — the gradient, the texture, the access for unloading.
If you want someone on the plot, the site visit is possible and is chargeable. The value depends on the location and is given on request, before we schedule anything.
The photographs save the site visit. The wall line, the plot entrance and the highest and lowest point are enough to understand what will be needed.
A sloped plot is resolved in two ways — raising the wall above the ground or burying the bottom panel. The choice is made in this conversation, because it changes the final appearance of the top edge.
Step 3 — the quote
The quote comes in two fixed lines: the material and the supply and installation. Each one has its own value, and neither of the two increases during the site work. It is not a “from”.
The material is what stays on the plot: panels and posts. The supply and installation is the complete job — foundation for the posts, placement and clean-up at the end. The final price is closed after the consultation with the manager, when the measurements and the texture are confirmed.
| Quote line item | What's included | What's excluded |
|---|---|---|
| Material | Panels and posts in the chosen texture | Transport and unloading, quoted separately |
| Supply and installation | Foundation of the posts, laying and clean-up at the end | Gates — we leave the opening. Painting. Licensing, when the municipality requires it |
Preparing the line — roots, rubble, old fencing — is done by the customer before the installation, unless the quote itself states otherwise. The payment terms, deposit and staging are set out in the accepted quote; VAT is the legal rate in force, currently 23 %. All of this is written in the terms and conditions.
Step 4 — marking out and installation
The lead time has two independent parts: the arrival of the material and the installation. The textures we have in stock in Greater Lisbon go out faster; the rest follow the factory's lead time.
Installation proceeds at a rate of 20 to 30 metres per day on ordinary ground. A fully enclosed house typically takes two to three days. The pace and what slows it down are detailed in Installation.
What determines the price
| Factor | Why the total changes |
|---|---|
| Wall height | More height means more slabs per span and longer posts |
| Length | The longer the line, the lower the transport weight per metre |
| Texture | Stock textures cost less and arrive sooner |
| Slope | Steps in the top finish and cutting of the bottom slab |
| Access to the plot | Defines how the material is unloaded |
The prices per metre are in prices, with the calculation done for typical lengths.
Questions we're always asked
- Do you come to see the plot? As a rule it is not necessary: measurements and photographs are enough. A site visit is possible and is charged, with the amount depending on the location. We install in 18 municipalities of the Lisbon Metropolitan Area — the list is at where we work.
- Do I need a permit? It depends on the height and on whether the wall borders the public road or not. That is the subject of the guide on licensing.
- Do you install a gate? No. We leave the opening with the width you need and the posts on each side ready for the gate you choose.
- What about the old wall? Demolition and removal are not included in the quote for the new wall. The manager will tell you what needs to be done before installation.

Within 2 working days we will send the price of your wall: how much the material costs and how much the supply and installation costs. The final value is confirmed by the manager.
Just leave your name and phone number — that is enough for us to get back to you. If you tell us the municipality, the length and the height, we will reply straight away with a price and with the lead time for the material.
