How much it costs to wall a plot
A plot of 10 × 20 m has a perimeter of 60 metres. Walled on all four sides with a 2 m concrete wall, it comes to 7,563 – 8,763 € excluding VAT; leaving out the street frontage, where the gate goes, it is 50 m and 6,308 – 7,308 €. What determines the price is the perimeter, not the area: two plots with the same square metres can require very different metres of wall if one is long and narrow.
This page starts from the plot because that is how the question comes in: almost nobody knows how many metres of wall they need, but everybody knows the dimensions of their plot. The figures include material and installation with foundation, excluding VAT, and are the same as on the page price per metre.
These figures are an estimate, not a quote. They are there to give a reliable order of magnitude before you speak to anyone. The final price is always discussed and agreed with one of our managers: it depends on the line of the wall on the plot, on access for the vehicle, on the slope, on the finish chosen and on delivery to site. No figure on this page constitutes a commercial offer.
Price based on your plot measurements
A 2 m high wall, in stock grey. The three-sided column assumes that the short frontage faces the street and takes a gate instead of a continuous wall — this is the most common case on an urban plot.

Perimeter = 2 × (width + length). If the neighbour already has a wall on one of the sides, take that side out of the calculation: their wall already closes that boundary.

Perimeter = 2 × (width + length). The plot area does not come into it: two plots with the same square metres need different metres of wall if one is square and the other long and narrow. A 1000 m² plot at 20 × 50 m takes 140 m of wall; the same plot at 31.6 × 31.6 m takes 126 m. That is 14 metres of difference from the shape alone.

Calculation methodology
The calculation is open and can be redone by hand with a calculator. There are six steps, always the same, and every unit value is the manufacturer's list price or a fixed fee of ours.
| 1. Metres of wall | Plot perimeter = 2 × (width + length). If the street frontage takes a gate instead of a wall, that width is subtracted. Boundaries already closed by a neighbour's wall are not included. |

| 2. Panel area | Area = metres of wall × height, in m². A panel measures 2000 × 500 mm, that is, exactly one square metre, so the area of the wall is directly the panel area. We do not round up: on the last segment the panel is cut and the actual area is invoiced. |
| 3. Number of posts | Posts = metres of wall ÷ 2, rounded up, + 1. Each segment between posts measures 2 m; the first segment needs two posts and each subsequent segment adds one. A 20 m wall takes 11 posts, a 60 m wall takes 31. |
| 4. Material cost | Material = area × panel price per m² + number of posts × post price per unit. The panel is sold by the m², the post individually. At a height of 1.80 m there are two courses with different prices: 1.50 m of 500 mm panel plus 0.30 m of 300 mm panel. |
| 5. Installation cost | Installation = metres of wall × 59…79 € per linear metre. It is a separate figure, it is not included in the material, and does not rise with height — rises with the difficulty of the plot. Includes drilling the holes and the foundation of each post with the concrete it requires. |
| 6. Total | Total = material + installation. Add 23 % VAT and delivery of the material to the site, quoted by municipality. |

How to measure your plot in five minutes
| 1. Take the measurements from the caderneta predial | The area is there. If the plot is regular, the area divided by the frontage gives you the depth. |

| 2. Pace out the street frontage | An adult stride is around 75 cm. It serves to confirm the order of magnitude, not for the final quote. |
| 3. Count only the boundaries still to be closed | Boundaries where the neighbour already has a wall are not included. It is the most common saving and the most often forgotten. |
| 4. Decide the frontage | If the entrance takes a gate, the front wall shortens to the two corner posts. Take the width of the gate off the perimeter. |
| 5. Check the slope | A sloping plot means the wall is stepped, and each step is one more post. Check the page for your municipality. |
Questions
I have a 500 m² plot. How many metres of wall do I need?
Between 89 and 103 metres to close all four sides, depending on the shape of the plot: 89 m if it is square, 103 m if it is a narrow 1:3 strip. With the gate at the front, deduct the width of the entrance.
Is it cheaper to wall a square plot?
Yes, and the difference is real. For the same area, a square is the shape with the least perimeter. Between a square 1000 m² plot and the same plot in a 1:3 strip there is a difference of about 20 metres of wall.
Do I need to wall all four sides?
Rarely. Boundaries where the neighbour already has a wall are closed off, and the street frontage usually takes a gate. In practice most of the quotes we prepare close two or three sides.
Does the price per metre change if the plot is large?
Almost nothing. Between 20 and 100 metres of wall the difference is less than two euros per metre, because the number of posts grows at the same rate as the length.
Do these figures include the gate?
No. The gate and the automation are quoted separately, and so is delivery of the material to the site.
Wall quote by plot shape
A wall quote based on the shape of the plot starts before the price: first you fix the perimeter and which boundaries are to be closed, and only then do you talk about euros. Without that, two quotes for the same plot are not comparable.
When you ask for a quote — from us or from another company — insist on these ten itemised lines. It is the quickest way to see whether two quotes are comparable.
